Waterwings unfolds as a study in buoyancy and release. Saturated blues form a fluid ground through which ribbons of green, violet, gold, and coral arc and reappear, suggesting motion that is continuous rather than directional. The composition feels suspended—neither rising nor falling—held in a state of rhythmic balance. The work explores how color alone can generate momentum. Lines curve, overlap, and disperse, creating a sensation of gliding rather than force. There is no central subject; instead, movement itself becomes the focus. Waterwings reads as a moment of freedom within the Color Studies series—light, expansive, and quietly confident in its flow.
