Vertical Interruption

Horizontal bands of color extend across the surface, compressed into layered rows that shift subtly as they move laterally. A vertical channel cuts through the composition, disrupting the horizontal rhythm and creating a point of convergence where colors narrow and darken. The surrounding fields—greens, blues, reds, and violets—press against this interruption without fully merging. Graphite accents reinforce the seams between layers, allowing the structure to remain legible despite the softness of the painted edges.
